Again here I go thinking, but what do you think of the idea of making a CD of the songs dated back in the "60's" feathering Richard Kleinberg when he sang with the Rock Band "The Sha-Dels" and the songs "Hand Jive" & "Suddenly" at our 50th??????

Also, we could honer other class mates that have accomplished a task be it small or great at the "50th". Examples would be: Ron Stephan and his cars, William Lewis and his bikes, Diane Armour and her book, Duane Queen being a Presbyterian Pastor etc.

This would make our Class different that the same-o, same-o others have had on their "50th" and the class mates would find it more interesting and more might come. It would be the year most of us would enjoy what happened or what others did. It could also be made into a book like our "50th Class Book" but only be called "50th Class Today", any way something like that.

Hi gang.

I thought Don had some great ideas, and it got me to thinking. I noticed at our 45th reunion I had nothing to do all day long except visit with relatives. I would have preferred to spend the time "having coffee" with my fellow 1960 classmates.

This leads me to suggest that we have an open coffee pot at Hy-Vee or Everette's Furniture (Jerry Gunsolly's store) from 9:00am-noon on Saturday morning.

Rick,
I think your idea about a coffee is great. It might act as a little ice breaker ahead of the evening activities.

Good evening:
This is my first time on so I am going to respond to the messages so far.

CD of accomplishments: We talked about this at the committee meeting on Feb. 22. There was silence to begin with so since my name was mentioned (Thank you, Don), I started the conversation. Basically, I expressed I was concerned that some people might feel left out. I compared it to how I sometimes felt in high school, and I didn't want to be any part of revisting that scene again. And I believe it was Duane Queen who said something like who can say that writing a book is more of an accomplishment than being a good parent? This is a paraphrase, but I agree with Duane. I also think that was the general consensus of the committee. Correct me, Committee, if you feel I misunderstood.

Coffee: I think having an opportunity to talk with classmates over coffee, lunch, or whatever is an absolutely great idea. However, the committee's plans do include support of the All-School Reunion Committee's coffee at the new school Saturday morning, and I was asked to make arrangements for our class to tour our high school (now middle school) right after. Think the coffee is 9-11:30 A.M.

I made a suggestion at our committee meeting that if some people wanted to organize informal get-togethers, they could post such a gathering with information the night of our class party at Ron's. I certainly would like to have an opportunity to meet in smaller groups on Saturdy prior to the Banquet. So why don't some of you make that happen? Please just let the rest of us know.

And finally, Cousin Rod, I haven't seen you for 50 years, so please take Rick's suggestion for tranportation under advisement.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Let's keep talking.

I seem to remember (well it has been 50 years you know) a Class Prophecy that looked into the future for the class of 1960. I'm not sure where a copy of that could be found but that might be fun to read and see if any of it came true.

Okay, guys: Who's interested in a memory book comparable to what we've done before?

Will the cost of it make a difference to you?

Let's hear some thoughts on the issue.

Thanks!
