Ron and I were great friends, having met after my family moved from Omaha to South Sioux City in 1957. His brother become a close friend of my older brother as our families attended the same church. Ron gave me an orchid corsage (my first) when we attended a senior event at our church in 1960. We also happened to attend a Christian college in Springfield, MO, where our paths occasionally crossed. Ron met his beautiful wife, Barb, in college and she was a long-time friend of my future husband, John.
Our paths often overlapped during our college years, after which John and I married and moved to New York City and then Pennsylvania; And . . . Ron and Barb married and moved to Illinois. The friendship continued mainly through exchanging picture Christmas cards, including their two sons and our four daughters. My John and Ron now have eternity to catch up with each other as they both have changed their address to heaven. Friendships are a great bonus from God to our families and I'm thankful for the sweet memories we shared.
